Last week's meeting of the Colorado Wildlife Commission in Junction City, a proposed ban on prairie dog hunting was defeated by a 9 to 0 vote ensuring that the necessary hunting of these animals can continue. While radical anti-hunting/animal rights groups targeted prairie dog hunting as cruel, it is a traditional sporting activity and necessary management tool, especially for ranching interests in the state. Please call Commission members and thank them for protecting your right to hunt. You can reach the members of the Commission at (303) 297-1192.
